SSCD-CDF Celiac Disease Research Young Investigator Development Award

The Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (SSCD) and the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) offer the SSCD‑CDF Celiac Disease Research Young Investigator Development Award to support early‑career investigators conducting basic, translational, or clinical research in celiac disease. The award provides $75,000 per year in direct costs for up to two years, requires the host institution to provide at least 40% protected research time, disallows institutional indirect costs, and mandates annual financial and scientific reporting plus acknowledgement of support in publications. Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent, be an active SSCD member with a full‑time faculty or equivalent appointment at a North American institution by Fall 2026, be within five years of fellowship completion (or five years from PhD conferment), and may not be concurrently completing advanced fellowship training; parental/medical leave and exceptional circumstances may be considered with prior exemption requests. Complete applications must include an NIH‑style biosketch, candidate career development plan, research plan and specific aims, institutional support letter confirming 40% effort, mentor letters, detailed budget, and human/animal safety information; incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
