SSH Discovery Award for Healthcare Simulation Research

Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), through the SSH Fund, offers the SSH Discovery Award to support experienced healthcare simulation researchers—preferentially larger-scale or multi‑institution projects—with a single research award of up to $30,000 for studies addressing priorities such as fidelity versus resource use, debriefing and team competency, training dose and frequency, XR versus non‑XR modalities, in situ simulation impacts, and related simulation methodology questions. Eligible applicants are experienced simulation researchers; selection favors multi‑institution or larger‑scale projects and proposals reviewed by the SSH Research Committee. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) including ethics/human subjects protection information, an executive summary, research question/hypothesis, methodology, timeline, budget, CV, and IRB approval if available; invited LOIs proceed to a full proposal and finalists undergo a live video interview. Deadlines and schedules are listed as TBD, and SSH reserves the right to withhold funding if no suitable proposals are submitted.
