STP Early Career Travel Grant

About this program

The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP) offers the STP Early Career Travel Grant to defray costs of attending psychology teaching conferences or conferences with a significant teaching-of-psychology component. Approximately five grants are awarded each cycle, up to $1,000 each, with application deadlines of April 1 (for conferences later that calendar year) and October 1 (for conferences in the following year). Applicants must be STP members and qualify as Early Career Psychologists (within 10 years of beginning to teach psychology and not a student); priority is given to first‑time recipients and those presenting scholarship-of-teaching-and-learning work, and applications from underrepresented groups are encouraged. Applications are evaluated on how conference attendance will improve teaching; recipients are notified within a month, must submit a 1–2 paragraph follow-up report after attendance, and follow STP’s travel reimbursement guidelines and expense form to receive funds.
