About this program
The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP), Division 2 of the American Psychological Association, offers Excellence in Teaching Awards recognizing outstanding contributions to psychology teaching, mentorship, scholarship, service, and teacher training across six career and institutional categories. Awardees receive $1,500 or up to $1,500 in travel reimbursement to attend STP’s Annual Conference on Teaching, plus a plaque. Applicants must be current psychology teachers, STP members, and may apply for only one category annually; the deadline is January 15 of the award year. Submissions require a cover sheet, current CV, teaching philosophy, evidence addressing award criteria, and three to five recommendation letters.
