Strengthening Neighborhoods Program

About this program

The Denver Foundation offers the Strengthening Neighborhoods Program, providing small grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to support grassroots community development projects in the seven-county Metro Denver region. The program focuses on empowering community-led groups from communities of color and lower-income areas by hiring capacity-building coaches or funding projects that leverage existing community strengths. Eligible applicants include informal community groups, nonprofit organizations, or those with a fiscal sponsor, led by at least three unrelated leaders. Ineligible activities include sponsorships, retroactive funding, debt retirement, re-granting, medical/scientific/academic research, religious activities, and scholarships.
