STS/ACS Health Policy Scholarship

About this program

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) are offering a full $8,000 scholarship to attend the one-week Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University, June 1–6, 2026; the award may be used for tuition, travel, housing, and subsistence. The program delivers advanced training in U.S. health policy, management, financial literacy, and leadership through interactive sessions and case studies to prepare surgeon leaders to influence policy and organizational change. Eligible applicants are non‑resident surgeons aged 30–60 at the time of application who are members in good standing of both STS and ACS. Applications require online contact information and a single PDF containing a one‑page essay (goals and training gaps) and an NIH‑style biosketch (up to five pages); applications are due ASAP (no firm ACS deadline yet) and questions may be sent to scholarships@facs.org or 312‑202‑5161.
