Student Conference Travel Subvention (Michael Pisani Student Travel Endowment Fund)

About this program

The Society for American Music’s Michael Pisani Student Travel Endowment Fund provides travel subventions to help students defray costs of attending the Society’s national conference; award amounts vary annually and cover conference-related expenses. Applicants must be members of the Society and enrolled at a college or university (doctoral students need not be formally enrolled); applications are accepted annually with a November 15 deadline. Awards are prioritized for first-time attendees who are presenting, then for previous attendees presenting who have not received assistance, with additional priority tiers; recipients must attend the entire conference (Thursday morning through Sunday morning), assist with the annual silent auction, and may be asked to write thank-you letters to donors.
