Submit a Research Concept

About this program

The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) hosts a year‑round online “Submit a Research Concept” portal for individuals and groups to propose ideas aligned with its Priority Areas for potential development into public–private partnership projects; the portal is for idea submission only and is not a funding application or a source of award funds. FFAR’s funded projects require public funds matched by private sources, so submitters should identify potential or secured matching funders even though matching is not required at submission. Eligible concepts must primarily benefit U.S. food and agriculture systems, be innovative, fit within FFAR’s Priority Areas or address pressing U.S. industry challenges, and must not duplicate existing FFAR Open Opportunities; multiple completed concepts may be submitted and only complete portal submissions are reviewed. Submissions are screened by FFAR’s Science Team for completeness and alignment with FFAR’s Research Strategy, submitted data are treated confidentially, and FFAR will notify submitters if it pursues or declines a concept.
