Sustainability Award

About this program

The International Coral Reef Society, in partnership with the University of Bremen, offers an annual Sustainability Award of up to $10,000 through 2028 to support climate-neutral coral reef-related meetings, workshops, conferences, and other events. One award per year includes a certificate and cash prize for the host institution organizing the selected event. Applicants need no prior experience, ICRS membership, or service, but must submit a maximum two-page PDF by February 15 describing the event, emissions-estimation methods, proposed strategies to reduce and offset emissions, and a budget for using the award.
