About this program
Cornell University's Sustainable Biodiversity Fund (SBF) supports innovative, interdisciplinary graduate research that addresses pressing questions in biodiversity protection, ecosystem services, and the preservation of evolutionary history. Grants fund graduate‑led projects across biological, environmental, social, and applied disciplines and emphasize translational outcomes and undergraduate mentorship. Eligibility is limited to Cornell graduate students from all disciplines; projects that involve and mentor undergraduates are encouraged and undergraduates seeking research roles should contact Cynthia Mathys.
