The Arthur Purdy Stout Study Trainee Award

APSS (a professional pathology society) offers the Arthur Purdy Stout Study Trainee Award, newly established in 2026 to recognize the best original peer‑reviewed paper published in the American Journal of Surgical Pathology during the 12 months preceding the application deadline; the prize is $1,000 and will be presented at the APSS Annual Meeting during USCAP. Applicants must hold an MD (or equivalent) and have been a pathologist‑in‑training (resident or fellow) in an accredited program at the time the research was initiated and substantially completed, and the applicant should be the first author. Either the first or senior author must be an APSS member in good standing; only one applicant may be named for a multi‑authored paper and only one paper per author may be submitted.
