About this program

Daniel and Susan Pfau Foundation, a Cincinnati-based private foundation established in 1994, provides capital, operating and limited endowment support focused on education, health, cultural experience and social welfare for children, adolescents and young adults (to age 30) with physical, mental or developmental disabilities, with a secondary focus on economically disadvantaged youth; it also funds regional arts/cultural organizations and recreation projects that align with those priorities. Applicants must be IRS‑recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving the Greater Cincinnati area (Hamilton, Butler, Clermont and Warren counties in Ohio; Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn County in Indiana); individual schools are usually ineligible except those serving students with disabilities or nonprofits serving multiple schools. The foundation prefers to participate alongside other donors, requires an online Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submission and a post‑grant evaluation report, and typically imposes a 24‑month waiting period after final payment or denial before reapplying. Submit LOIs through the foundation’s online system according to published deadlines.
