About this program
The Seismological Society of America (SSA) awards the Harry Fielding Reid Medal—its highest honor—no more than once a year for outstanding contributions to seismology or earthquake engineering. The medal may be awarded to any individual except a member, member‑elect, or officer of the SSA Board of Directors at the nomination deadline. Nominations must be submitted by an SSA member as chief nominator and include a ≤2‑page nomination letter, 2–5 support letters (at least two from SSA members; total authors across support letters ≤10; each ≤2 pages), a signed nominator disclosure form, and optionally a CV/bibliography; submit electronically to the SSA Secretary by 30 September (midnight PST) in .TXT, .PDF or .DOC to awards@seismosoc.org.
