The American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) awards the Marian W. Ropes, MD, Award to recognize significant scholarly achievements of a middle-career woman physician-scientist; the annual recipient receives a $10,000 honorarium and presents the Ropes Lecture at the ASCI annual meeting. Eligibility is limited to female ASCI members who were elected within five years of the award year; nominees may not be current members of the ASCI Council or the Physician-Scientist Engagement Committee and may be nominated for only one ASCI award per cycle. Nominations must be submitted by ASCI members (excluding current Council and Physician-Scientist Engagement Committee members) and include a 750-word personal statement addressing scientific achievements, career/mentoring/service, a full CV, three most-significant publications with 50-word annotations and PMIDs, completion of the ASCI demographics survey, research domain information, and a 500-word nominator statement. The ASCI Physician-Scientist Engagement Committee reviews nominations and submits recommendations to the ASCI Council for final approval.
