The Walston Chubb Award for Innovation

Sigma Xi offers the Walston Chubb Award for Innovation to recognize creativity and significant innovation in science or engineering, including new areas of research, novel solutions to longstanding problems, new methodologies, or interdisciplinary applications. The award includes a $4,000 honorarium and an invitation to deliver the Walston Chubb Award Lecture at Sigma Xi’s annual meeting. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, although citizenship will no longer be required beginning in 2016, and Sigma Xi membership is not required; the innovation must have been reported in a peer-reviewed journal at least one year before the award. Nominations are due January 31 and must include a curriculum vitae, nomination letter addressing the innovation and its broader impact, and one or two additional support letters.
