The American Anthropological Association, with prize sponsorship from the National Institute of Social Sciences, is running a juried Three‑Minute Thesis competition that awards cash prizes ($400 grand prize, $200 first runner‑up, $100 second runner‑up) for succinct, single‑slide, three‑minute presentations summarizing a graduate student’s 2024–25 Master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation for a general audience. Presentations are judged by journalists under University of Queensland Three Minute Thesis rules, emphasizing comprehension and content (background, significance, results/impact, non‑technical language) and engagement/communication (audience interest, presenter enthusiasm, slide clarity/legibility).
