Transition to Independence Grant (TIG)

About this program

The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) is offering the Transition to Independence Grant (TIG) to support investigators transitioning from mentored training to independent (non‑mentored) basic, clinical, translational, or health services research. Applicants must be primary investigators who completed a FAER Mentored Research Training Grant within the past two years and are actively revising and resubmitting a new independent funding application (e.g., R01/21, VA Merit, AHRQ or equivalent) that received a priority score or percentile but narrowly missed the funding threshold. The award provides $75,000 for one year with an expected 20% research effort, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
