Travel and education bursaries

About this program

Obstetric Anaesthetists' Association (OAA) offers up to ten annual travel and education bursaries of up to £1,000 each to support OAA members attending overseas meetings (invited speakers or accepted abstracts/posters/papers) or delivering approved educational projects in low- and middle‑income countries; awards cover travel expenses and up to two nights' accommodation and are paid in increments. Applicants must normally have been OAA members for at least one year (exceptions considered with a supporting letter); members are generally limited to one award per year and one applicant per abstract, and retrospective applications are not accepted. Applications are considered three times yearly (31 Jan, 31 May, 30 Sep), must be emailed to the Chair with personal/membership details, meeting/project outline, contribution and detailed cost justification, declaration of other funding, and — for overseas projects — project personnel and two referees; selection is discretionary by the OAA Research and Grants Subcommittee.
