Travelling Bursary (BAPRAS) for study of new techniques abroad

British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) offers annual Travelling Bursaries to support study of new techniques or to gain plastic surgery experience not available in the applicant’s home unit; up to £25,000 is available annually with individual awards up to £5,000 allocated at the Education Committee’s discretion. Visits may be to any destination for a reasonable period, and preference is given to trainees travelling without other financial awards (applicants travelling in paid roles are less favourably considered). Applicants must be BAPRAS members and either consultants in the UK/Ireland within their first three years of appointment or Specialist Registrars in years 4–8 on a recognised SAC training programme. Applications must include a detailed itinerary with costs and justification and a CV (maximum two pages); incomplete applications will not be considered, and successful applicants must submit a report of their visit for publication on the BAPRAS website.
