University of Basel Travel Fund for Early Career Researchers

About this program

The University of Basel offers an ad personam Travel Fund to early career researchers to reimburse travel that facilitates transfer and adoption of research methods and knowledge (e.g., conference attendance, research trips). Awards are supplementary, provided only when institute or third‑party funding is unavailable, carry no legal entitlement, require a minimum request of CHF 150 and observe reimbursement maxima (meals up to CHF 50/day, hotel up to CHF 150/night). Eligible applicants are matriculated doctoral candidates, postdocs, habilitation candidates and, in exceptional cases, master's students affiliated with the University of Basel. Applications must be submitted within four weeks after return and include the signed application form, original receipts converted to CHF, a final report and abstract of the contribution, CV with publications and a supervising professor’s recommendation (except for habilitated postdocs/assistant professors); consult the fund’s information sheet for calculation rules and sustainable travel guidance.
