Utah Artist Fellowships

About this program

The Utah Division of Arts & Museums (Department of Cultural & Community Engagement) offers Utah Artist Fellowships—one-time $5,000 awards recognizing Utah artists who demonstrate exceptional creativity and to support pivotal career advancement. Fellowships are offered in Literary Arts (five), Performing Arts—Music (five in 2026), and Visual Arts & Design (eight), and recipients are selected by out-of-state, nationally recognized jurors based on application narratives and work samples from the past five years. Applicants must be established, professional Utah artists (not awards for specific projects, lifetime achievement, or those just beginning their careers) and must show why now is the appropriate time in their practice for this award. Applications are reviewed through a two-round process: a staff prescreen followed by juror review.
