Varro E. Tyler Prize — award for outstanding scientific contributions to dietary supplements and botanicals

About this program

The American Society of Pharmacognosy offers the Varro E. Tyler Prize to an individual for outstanding scientific contributions to dietary supplements with special emphasis on botanicals; the award includes an inscribed plaque, $5,000, and travel expenses to the meeting where it is presented. Eligible contributions focus on phytochemistry, pharmacognosy, and pharmacology, though notable work in related areas (e.g., clinical investigations) may also be considered. Nominations (due February 15) must include a letter describing the candidate’s significant contributions, a detailed curriculum vitae with a complete publications list, and may include 2–3 reprints and up to two supporting letters; recipients must be present in person to accept the award. Selection is made by a committee appointed by the ASP President; ASP membership and nationality are not required.
