Vasiliki Karagiannaki Prize for the Best Edited Volume in Modern Greek Studies

About this program

The Modern Greek Studies Association awards the biennial Vasiliki Karagiannaki Prize for the best first-edition edited volume in English with significant content in Modern Greek Studies, offering a $1,000 prize and recognition at the MGSA Symposium. Eligible volumes may address any discipline and include scholarly, literary, nonfiction, multimedia, correspondence, or other primary-source materials, provided they demonstrate strong editorial coherence and scholarly contribution. Editors must be current MGSA members, may submit only one volume, and must submit three copies by April 1, 2028; contributors need not be MGSA members. Ineligible works include journal special issues, single-author edited collections, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, and educational readers.
