Verdant Fund

About this program

The Verdant Fund, managed by Coleman Center for the Arts, Alabama Contemporary Art Center, and Space One Eleven with support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, provides $60,000 annually for public-facing projects by Alabama artists. Funding supports new work and experimentation that expands narratives of creative practice in Alabama, with emphasis on socially engaged, culturally relevant, and innovative projects. Priority is given to women artists, artists of color, artists with disabilities, LGBTQ artists, and practitioners working outside established regional markets or in emerging and nontraditional disciplines. Applicants should be Alabama-based artists proposing projects that align with the fund’s focus on underrepresented and under-financed creative practices.
