Veteran Projects Fund grants — up to $10,000

About this program

The ALA Foundation's Veteran Projects Fund awards grants up to $10,000 to eligible American Legion Auxiliary tax-exempt entities (units, districts/counties, departments) to launch new volunteer initiatives or partnerships that deliver direct services to veterans, funding one-time needs such as equipment for transitional housing, support for veteran shelters, or collaborations with VA medical centers and state veterans homes. Grants are intended for new, one-time needs and may support items or program start-up costs. Eligible applicants are ALA tax-exempt entities (units, districts/counties, departments), and applicants must provide 20% of the total project cost as matching funds (e.g., $900 match for a $4,500 item).
