Virtual Event Grant

About this program

The Design History Society's Virtual Event Grant awards a total of £1,000 annually (divided among multiple high‑merit projects) to support virtual initiatives that foster interaction, debate and research in design history, promoting access, transnational dialogue and reduced environmental impact. Applications are open year‑round to DHS members worldwide (individuals or collaborative teams), limited to one submission per person per calendar year; proposals are anonymised and judged by Executive Committee reviewers on originality, global collaboration and research impact, clarity and feasibility, and value for money. Budgets must exclude travel, accommodation, equipment purchases, subsistence or hiring others, and successful applicants must archive outcomes on DHS virtual platforms, submit a 500–800‑word report and a copyright‑free image within six months, and acknowledge DHS funding with the Society's logo.
