Visiting Research Fellowships (Kroc Institute)

About this program

Kroc Institute at the University of Notre Dame funds Visiting Research Fellowships for outstanding scholars in peace research for a semester or full academic year, offering a $30,000/semester stipend, furnished housing, and access to Institute resources. Fellowships support work aligned with Kroc themes—intersectional gender/race/class and peacebuilding; international mediation; the Peace Accords Matrix; and sustainability, climate change, and peace—with preference for projects of direct relevance to policy and practice. Applicants must have a doctoral or equivalent degree by the fellowship start date and submit a cover letter specifying term and field, a research proposal (max 10 double-spaced pages), CV, and two confidential recommendation letters. Selection by a Kroc faculty committee is based on academic excellence and fit; prior Kroc fellows must wait seven years to reapply and sustainability proposals are prioritized for full-year appointments.
