Visiting Researcher (RSF) - short-term in-residence positions (no stipend)

About this program

Russell Sage Foundation (RSF) offers Visiting Researcher residencies of up to five months (rarely up to ten) that provide office space, computers, library access and, when available, partially subsidized housing, but do not include financial support. Residents are expected to be in residence during the academic year as space permits, spend at least 75% of their fellowship working on-site, attend weekly seminars and lunches, and limit extended travel while the foundation is open. Applicants must be several years beyond the PhD with a publication record and a current research project relevant to RSF’s social science program areas; priority is given to RSF-sponsored grantees and scholars completing existing work. Apply via RSF’s Fluxx portal with a project letter (up to 5 pages), allowable appendix/examples of prior work, and an abbreviated CV (maximum 5 pages); letters of recommendation are not accepted.
