Warhol Exhibition Support

About this program

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts offers Exhibition Support grants to institutions proposing solo, two-person, or thematic group exhibitions scheduled to open between six months and two years after grant notification (notifications July 1 and January 1), aiming to support artists whose work has been underrecognized yet influential. Grants range from $60,000–$100,000 and requests should be no more than 25% of a project’s total direct costs; proposals must include exhibition dates, curator name, information about publications and public programs, confirmed or in-process travel venues, and a detailed exhibition budget listing direct costs and payments to artists (excluding staff salaries). Applicants must provide a clear curatorial rationale and demonstrate how the project advances recognition of under-celebrated artists, detailing specific artist opportunities (commissions, residencies, catalogues, public programs) and, for group shows, the organizing principles and participant selection.
