Wicahpi Olowan Visiting Artist Program

About this program

First Peoples Fund’s Wicahpi Olowan Music Program, based at Oglala Lakota Artspace on the Pine Ridge Reservation, supports Indigenous musicians through workshops, studio access, and a Visiting Artist Program for in‑studio creative residencies. The Visiting Artist Program offers a six‑month residency with a $1,000 monthly stipend (artists do not stay at Lakota Cabins), requires monthly check‑ins with the program manager, and includes a performance at an OLA Solstice or Equinox event. Applicants should be practicing artists—particularly Native/Indigenous musicians, songwriters, producers, or culture bearers—and must assist with post‑program reporting and agree to engage in future Native Artist Professional Development.
