Women+ in German Studies (W+iGS) offers a Small Grants programme to support research activities, conference travel, publication costs and emergency or accessibility-related needs for postgraduate members, early-career academics on fractional or fixed‑term contracts, and other part‑time or retired members who cannot access institutional or research‑council funding. Funding categories include conference presentation support (normally up to £150; quarterly deadlines 1 Mar, 1 Jun, 1 Sep, 1 Dec), research‑abroad grants (up to £300; deadlines 1 Oct and 1 Mar; requires application form and a reference), postgraduate W+iGS meeting travel contributions (email application one month before the event), publication‑cost support (normally up to £150; quarterly deadlines) and other case‑by‑case awards. Applicants must have been W+iGS members for at least three months and belong to the eligible groups; applications should be submitted to the Treasurer using the W+iGS form (or by email where specified) and must be received before the proposed activity (retrospective applications are not normally considered). Successful applicants must provide receipts, submit a short report (max 200 words) to the Secretary, acknowledge W+iGS in any outputs, and may request additional funds above stated maxima for accessibility or essential extra costs.
