William A. Wilson Prize for the Best Undergraduate Student Paper in Folk Belief or Religious Folklife

The Folk Belief and Religious Folklife Section of the American Folklore Society offers the William A. Wilson Prize, a $250 honorarium recognizing the best undergraduate paper on folk belief or religious folklife in honor of William A. Wilson. Eligible papers must be in English, authored by an undergraduate, written after January 1 of the previous year (published or unpublished), 8–36 double‑spaced pages, anonymized for blind review, and fully footnoted in Journal of American Folklore citation style. Submit electronically by July 15 a cover letter specifying the paper date and venue/publication, the manuscript (title only, no identifying metadata), a 100‑word biographical statement including current student status, and a faculty sponsor’s letter; one submission per person and previous winners are ineligible.
