William Dameshek Prize

About this program

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) William Dameshek Prize honors an individual age 50 or younger at nomination who has made outstanding scientific, leadership, mentoring, or public‑facing contributions that advance understanding and treatment in hematology; recipients are typically in the earlier stages of their careers and the award does not include a plenary lecture. Nominees and nominators must be ASH members; candidates of any nationality and residence are eligible but all materials must be submitted in English, while self‑nominations, posthumous nominations, and repeat awards to prior recipients are not allowed. Required nomination materials include a completed nomination form, the nominee's current CV or NIH biosketch annotated with “Contributions to Science,” a two‑page nomination letter summarizing the nominee’s impact, and one optional two‑page letter of support; voting members of the ASH Executive and Awards Committees are ineligible for the award during their tenure.
