William Kaula Award

About this program

The American Geophysical Union (AGU) presents the William Kaula Award biennially in even-numbered years to recognize unselfish service and extraordinary contributions to AGU’s publications program, including editorial leadership, mentorship, policy development, and innovative outreach; nominees are judged on quality and impact, reach to broad or underrepresented audiences, and originality. Recipients receive a $1,000 prize, an engraved award, recognition at AGU’s annual meeting, and two tickets to the Honors Reception; submissions are accepted during the noted window of 5 January–2 March (year not specified). Nominations may be peer or self-nominated, but nominators/co-nominators must be active AGU members, and all parties must comply with AGU’s conflict-of-interest and professional conduct policies; candidates at early, mid, and experienced career stages are eligible.
