William R. Waters Research Grant

About this program

The Association for Social Economics funds the William R. Waters Research Grant to support individual research in social economics that explores cultural, political, and ethical dimensions of the economy and to provide buy-out time and resources for publication and career development. Awards are up to $5,000 annually and are intended for early-career scholars: promising Ph.D. students who have not completed their dissertation, postdoctoral researchers, and new faculty who are untenured or below the rank of Associate Professor (or equivalent internationally). Calls are publicized each fall with a typical submission deadline around November 1, recipients are notified in December and presented at the January Presidential Breakfast, and awardees must submit a short progress report to the President-Elect by September 15 of the award year.
