About this program
The AMA Foundation’s Williams-Qualls-Spratlen Multicultural Mentoring Award of Excellence honors marketing professors who pair world-class research with a sustained record of mentoring scholars and students of color; recipients receive a cash prize, complimentary registration to the AMA Summer Academic Conference, and recognition at the Foundation Awards Luncheon. Nominations for the 2026 award are open through May 3. Eligible nominees are marketing faculty with demonstrable research contributions (e.g., publications in leading journals) and a documented, long-term impact mentoring underrepresented racial and ethnic groups—particularly African American, Hispanic, and Native American scholars; nominations must be submitted online (self-nominations are not accepted) and include the nominee’s current CV and a personal letter describing mentorship and research achievements, with up to two optional recommendation letters. Finalists will be asked to provide additional supporting materials and must be available to accept the award in person at the AMA Summer Academic Conference.
