About this program

The Wyeth Foundation for American Art, administered by the College Art Association (CAA), provides publication grants to support book‑length scholarly works on the art of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, including museum exhibition or collection catalogs with substantial scholarship. Eligible projects must be under contract with publishers that are institutional members of CAA and demonstrate high scholarly and intellectual merit; priority is given to works with small markets, unusually high production costs, early‑career authors, smaller museums, underserved constituencies, or research that breaks new ground, while self‑published works, previously published collections, technical reports, and articles are ineligible. Publishers must apply through CAA’s online portal and submit a cover letter with budget, a partial manuscript (TOC, introduction, sample chapter(s), illustration list and images), two or more substantive peer reviews, the author’s CV, a two‑page abstract, and the author’s response to reviews; a CAA individual or non‑member ID is required and deadlines are March 15 and September 15.
