Wyeth Foundation for American Art Publication Grant

About this program

The College Art Association (CAA), via the Wyeth Foundation for American Art Publication Grant, supports the publication of book-length scholarly works on the art of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with preference for high‑merit projects that address small markets, unusually high costs, early-career authors, smaller museums, underserved constituencies, or publish important primary-source research. Eligible projects are book-length manuscripts under contract with publishers that are institutional members of CAA; substantial museum exhibition or collection catalogs may be considered, while technical reports, articles, previously published works, congress proceedings, and self-published manuscripts are ineligible. Applications must be submitted by the publisher through the CAA portal and include a publisher cover letter with budget, partial manuscript materials (TOC, introduction, sample chapter(s), illustration list and sample images, bibliography), two or more substantive peer reviews, the author’s CV, a two‑page abstract, and the author’s response to reviews. Deadlines are March 15 and September 15, and a CAA individual or non‑member ID is required to apply; prior Wyeth rejections may be resubmitted only after substantial revision.
