Young Investigator Award (Pediatric Academic Societies)

About this program

The Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Young Investigator Award (est. 1983) honors early-career scientists and physician-scientists for discovery-based research on childhood disease and development; one recipient is chosen annually and receives formal recognition at the PAS Meeting, economy-level travel and up to four nights’ hotel, complimentary meeting registration, and an honorarium. Applicants must have completed no more than seven years post-training (residency, postdoctoral or research fellowship) at the time of the PAS Meeting—exceptions for career interruptions may be requested—hold the rank of Assistant Professor or below, have conducted the research after medical/PhD completion, and be nominated by a member of one of the PAS Societies or Alliances. Nominations require the nominee’s CV, manuscript(s) or up to three key papers, a succinct nominator’s letter (≤2 pages) detailing the nominee’s role, a senior investigator letter if different, and three to five additional letters of support; an independent committee makes the final selection and the recipient must attend the PAS Meeting.
