About this program

The Garden Club of America offers the Zeller Summer Scholarship in Medicinal Botany, a $3,000 annual award to support supervised and structured summer study—fieldwork, laboratory research, coursework, or internships—in medicinal botany. Selection is made by the GCA Scholarship Committee with input from a medicinal botanist and is intended to expand undergraduate knowledge through a defined summer project. Applicants must be currently and actively enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university for the summer following any undergraduate year (freshman–senior); international students are ineligible due to IRS restrictions. Applications (only one GCA scholarship/fellowship/award application per applicant per year) must be submitted electronically or by mail and received at GCA Headquarters by February 1 preceding the proposed summer.
