The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) offers the ICAR - Follow the Volatiles fellowship through its Postdoctoral Program (NPP), focusing on tracing volatiles like carbon and oxygen-containing species from protoplanetary disks to exoplanet atmospheres. This collaborative research aims to prepare for the search for life and atmospheric characterization of potentially habitable planets, utilizing data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and other large telescopes. Eligibility is open to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, foreign nationals eligible for J-1 visa status, and applicants with pending LPR, asylee, or refugee status, all of whom must hold a doctoral degree. Selected fellows are expected to attend relevant astrobiology conferences using provided travel funds.
