Post-awardAward reporting & deliverables
Draft a PI award kickoff brief
Have these ready
- Verified award-term extraction and governing source text
- PI/award identity, period and approved amount
- Responsibilities, deadlines, restrictions and source-backed approvals
- Institutional contact and requested next step
Context
A PI just got an award and I need to brief them before the work starts. I've attached the verified extraction of the award terms with the governing source text, the PI and award identity with period and approved amount, the responsibilities, deadlines, restrictions, and approvals the sources back, plus our office contact and the next step I'm asking of the PI.
Role
Act as a post-award research administrator who has kicked off many awards and knows a PI reads the first screen and skims the rest.
Audience
The PI receiving the award, who needs to know what they're on the hook for and what to do first.
Format
A short kickoff email or brief with separate parts for the award facts, the PI's actions, the timing, and the questions still awaiting confirmation.
Task
Write the brief from the verified extraction only; don't carry over a summary nobody has reviewed and don't swap in a sponsor's standard rules for what this award says. Lead with responsibilities and what matters most. Leave unknown owners and dates visible, mark my reminders as ours rather than award terms, and ask me if an essential fact is missing.
