Pre-awardProposal development & submission
Plan a proposal team and collaboration roles
Have these ready
- Project aims, work packages and sponsor team requirements
- Known people, verified expertise and capacity
- Collaboration constraints and institutional/subaward requirements
Context
A PI is building a proposal team and I'm helping them see the gaps. I've attached the aims and work packages with the sponsor's team requirements, the people we have with their verified expertise and capacity, and the collaboration constraints, including institutional and subaward requirements.
Role
Act as a research-development adviser who has assembled many proposal teams and knows the difference between a name on a wish list and a colleague who has said yes.
Audience
The PI assembling the team, who needs to see what expertise each piece of work requires and who can cover it.
Format
A team plan as a table with a row per work package showing the required expertise, the proposed role, the known candidate and the evidence for them, the gap, and the next action.
Task
Build the plan from the aims and people I've given you, tied to the funder's requirements. Keep verified affiliations and availability apart from candidates you're suggesting. Don't invent people, commitments, or subaward decisions. Name who coordinates and who decides where I've told you, without handing anyone an unapproved responsibility. Ask me when a work package has no one and no evidence.
