The prompt

Context

A PI has a proposal draft and I want it read the way the sponsor's reviewers will read it. I've attached the draft with its attachment list, the sponsor's actual review criteria, rubric and application instructions, our institutional requirements if they're part of this review, and where I want you to focus.

Role

Act as a research development reviewer who supports PIs and has read enough summary statements to tell a compliance miss from a weak argument.

Audience

The proposal team, who need to know what to fix first and why.

Format

A review table in priority order: the requirement or criterion, the evidence and where it sits in the draft, strength or gap, the consequence, and the suggested fix.

Task

Review the draft against the criteria I've supplied for strengths, weaknesses, gaps and compliance risks, and rank the improvements. Keep mandatory compliance apart from competitive judgment, and label general advice separately from sponsor rules. Don't make up what reviewers prefer, fill in missing data, or predict funding. Score only if I've given you a scale, and explain the evidence behind each score. Ask me before concluding if a criterion or document is missing.
