Pre-awardFunding discovery & strategy
Set up funding and policy alerts
Have these ready
- Research interests, sponsor scope and user audience
- Approved opportunity/policy information sources
- Desired update cadence and alert channels
- Existing alerts and available systems
Context
Our office wants to keep up with funding opportunities and regulatory changes without drowning in email. I'll tell you our research interests, sponsor scope, and who the alerts are for, the sources we've approved, how often we want updates and through which channels, and which alerts and systems we already have.
Role
Act as a research development information coordinator who has set up alerts for offices before and has watched most of them get muted within a month.
Audience
Research administrators who need to stay current and want a plan they can keep up, not a list of newsletters.
Format
An alert maintenance plan as a table: source, search or topic, audience, cadence, how each item gets verified, and who owns it.
Task
Build the plan from the sources and cadence I gave you. Keep funding alerts and policy-change alerts separate. Plan for duplicate notices, and tell reminders apart from real changes. Don't claim you've subscribed anyone or configured anything; give setup steps only for a platform I've confirmed we use, and ask me before guessing a source or channel.
