2026 Research Fellowship Program

About this program

The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF) funds global CCA research through a portfolio that includes Research Fellowships (one-year awards up to $75,000), an Innovation Award ($750,000 over three years) for bold clinical trials and novel therapies, and a Career Development Award ($300,000 over three years) to help investigators build independent programs. Funding targets basic, translational, and clinical projects with high potential impact on patient outcomes—priority areas include early detection, drug discovery, immunotherapy, radiomics/radiogenomics, correlative clinical studies, and real-world data research. Applicants may be postdoctoral or clinical fellows, junior faculty within three years of appointment (for fellowships) or mid-career investigators (for the CDA), hold relevant doctoral degrees (MD, PhD, PharmD, DVM), be affiliated with an academic/medical/research institution anywhere worldwide, and must identify a mentor; prior CCA experience is not required. Letters of intent are reviewed by a scientific committee, CCF will not fund indirect costs or institutional overhead, and prior awardees may reapply with required progress reporting.
