AAA-AICPA-Bea Sanders EDGE in Teaching Award

About this program

The American Accounting Association, with support from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, offers the AAA-AICPA-Bea Sanders EDGE in Teaching Award to recognize innovative teaching practices in introductory accounting courses that engage students and encourage accounting careers. The award includes $5,000 for the recipient(s), opportunities to present at AAA events, and potential publication consideration in Issues in Accounting Education; an honorable mention may receive $500. Any individual or group may nominate, including self-nominations, but at least one nominee must be an American Accounting Association member, and the practice must be noncommercial and used in freshman, sophomore, or community college accounting coursework. Nominations are due January 31 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time and must document learning objectives, implementation, assessment, student response, alignment with the AICPA Competency Framework, and the use of leading-edge methods or emerging topics.
