AAOA Foundation Research Award

About this program

The AAOA Foundation (American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy) invites applications for its Research Award to support investigations into the pathogenesis, pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of otolaryngic allergy, offering two to eight one‑year, non‑renewable grants of up to $10,000 in direct costs each (no indirect costs). Awardees must present results at an AAOA scientific meeting and submit a manuscript to the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology; funds may be activated as early as Sept 1 (for June 1 submissions) or Mar 1 (for Dec 1 submissions). Principal investigators and key personnel must be current AAOA members or have submitted a membership application (residents and medical students are encouraged); funds may not be used for PI salary (up to 50% may support assistants), and applications are submitted via the AAOA Foundation portal with a 400‑word abstract, a 4‑page research plan, budget/justification, and references per formatting guidelines.
