AAOA Foundation Research Award

About this program

The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy Foundation offers annual Research Awards of up to $10,000 in direct costs for one-year, non-renewable projects investigating the pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of otolaryngic allergy. Approximately two to eight awards are provided annually, with funding supporting expenses such as supplies, equipment, technical personnel, statistical services, and publication costs; indirect costs and principal investigator salary are not allowable. Residents and medical students are encouraged to apply, and the principal investigator or key personnel must be current AAOA members in good standing or apply for membership. Applications must include an abstract, four-page research plan, references, budget, and justification, and funded studies must be presented at an AAOA scientific meeting with a manuscript submitted to the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology.
