AAP Foundation Educator Scholarship

About this program

American Academy of Periodontology Foundation offers the Educator Scholarship, a $12,000 award disbursed as $4,000 per year for three years to support students in U.S. periodontal postdoctoral programs with tuition, living expenses, or debt reduction as they prepare for careers as full‑time periodontal educators. Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a U.S. periodontal postdoctoral program, intend to teach full‑time at a U.S. periodontal program upon graduation, and commit to one year of full‑time teaching for each year of funding received; failure to meet the teaching requirement converts the award to a repayable loan, and previous recipients may not reapply. Completed applications are due June 1; awards are reviewed by a committee appointed by the AAP Foundation President and finalists must attend a mandatory interview at the AAP Annual Meeting.
